HOW TO STRAIN INFUSED FIRE CIDER

A few weeks back I showed you how to prepare and start the infusion process in making fire cider. You can read that post here if you’re interested. This post is the continuation of that and I’ll show you how to strain infused fire cider.

There are two main pieces of equipment you’ll need. This first is a strainer, or a colander. Like the kind you use to strain boiled pasta noodles. And the second is a funnel. Essentially you’re just transferring one jar to another minus the solid ingredients. Easy peasy.

Once the solids are strained, discard them and use a funnel to pour the liquids into a clean sanitized jar.

Next, is my favorite part of the fire cider. The honey! I add raw honey into the freshly strained cider and give it a good shake. It makes a perfect hot, spicy and sweet flavor. Exactly how it’s supposed to be.

Store in a cool, dark cabinet or pantry. Fire cider will keep for several months. To extend the shelf life, keep in the refrigerator.

I like to take a spoonful in the morning and a spoonful at night. It’s so good, though, that I find myself taking extra spoonfuls whenever I’m near the jar. I think that means it’s time to make more since I know this one will go by quick.
