CRANBERRY CROCKPOT POTPOURRI DIY

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the aroma of it all. I adore the smell of Christmas trees, cinnamon and freshly baked cookies. I look forward to the way the outside smells when it gets really cold, almost like a fresh and refreshing scent. To make things extra holiday-ey, I like to do crockpot potpourri. Today I’m going to share how to make your own cranberry crockpot potpourri at home.

For this recipe I’m using cranberries from Thanksgiving that I froze, a 4-inch piece of ginger root, an orange that I sliced up and 4 bags of chamomile tea. I’m using a small crockpot so I didn’t have a lot of room for extra things. If I did, I would have also added:

  • Rosemary
  • Christmas tree branches
  • Vanilla Bean
  • Allspice
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Lemon
  • Bay leaf

There’s so many things you can add to your own blend. Customize it how you like it. If you love the smell of lavender, throw some in!

I bought some chamomile that unfortunately ended up tasting like plastic once it was brewed so I threw four of them in. I hate to waste them so I found this a practical way to use them.

Then I added everything to the crockpot then poured water over top until everything was fully submerged. I left the lid off and simmered everything over high heat. It took a couple hours to get the scent to fill the room, but once it did it was totally worth the wait. Then after a while I noticed it spread throughout the house.

It has such a lovely sweet smell!
