FIRE CIDER

Ahh, fire cider. A staple for the fall and winter season. I’m going to show you how I make this traditional remedy. Follow along!

I take a spoonful of the cider daily. It helps me protect my immune system when it’s most vulnerable during the cold and flu season.

WHAT IS FIRE CIDER?

Fire cider is a herbal tonic made with pungent herbs and immune-boosting ingredients. I make mine with all organic ingredients, like:

  • horseradish root
  • onion
  • garlic
  • ginger root
  • cayenne pepper
  • rosemary
  • lemon
  • orange
  • jalapeño

A traditional folk remedy, these ingredients are known to support the immune system. It’s a popular concoction and the best part is that it’s totally customizable. Add herbs that support your needs. Let the herbs and veggies inspire you.

I stuffed all of the ingredients into a large Mason jar and covered with raw apple cider vinegar. Let everything infuse for 4-6 weeks. Be sure to give a good shake on a daily basis. And top off with more apple cider vinegar as needed. The goal is to keep all of the ingredients totally submerged into the apple cider vinegar.
