This herbal salt has been a staple at my house lately. Made with a few anti-inflammatory ingredients, I use it in place of my regular table salt. I’ll show you how I make it.

I started out with fresh rosemary. I stripped the needles off of one long piece and broke it down as much as I could. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, rosemary adds to the effectiveness of the anti-inflammatory properties this recipe offers.

Up next is parsley. I remember going to Shari’s (a breakfast restaurant in the Pacific Northwest) with my grandpa when I was really young and he would make fun of me in his sweet way for eating the parsley that was used to garnish the dish. Smelling parsley always brings me right back to that breakfast restaurant with my grandpa. But the real reason I’m using it for this recipe is because of its antioxidant properties and beneficial vitamins.

Turmeric is also used because of its incredible anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used for centuries to treat and alleviate multiple conditions. I find that it’s a pretty powerful herb and it’s at the top of my list as far as anti-inflammatory herbs go.
I blended all of the ingredients together with sea salt. Then I spread everything out evenly on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

To preserve the shelf-life as much as possible, I baked everything at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Once it was all cooled, I poured the ingredients into a food processor to break it down as much as possible.

Once I reached a coarse texture, I poured the salt into a round tin for storage.
