I made Halloween popcorn! I added some cute edible Halloween decorations onto home-popped popcorn and it all made my day so much brighter! Like I always say, it’s the little details that matter.

It’s pretty obvious that my priority was flavor and cuteness with this recipe. There’s no anti-inflammatory properties or real nutritional value with this one. It’s almost Halloween and I’m under the opinion that all things should be done in moderation, like eating candy.

I used yellow corn kernels for the popcorn. Then I poured 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a thick bottomed pan (this allows the heat to disperse evenly) and threw in 2 corn kernels and covered with a glass lid. I stood watch over the pot so I could know the exact moment when those 2 kernels popped. This means the oil is ready so I added the rest of the kernels right away. If you want to skip all of this, you can totally use microwave popcorn instead.

Once the popcorn fully popped, I added salt and got ready for the best part. The goods. I raided my new local grocery store and got the Halloween-related goodies I could find. Here are some other things that would go awesome in a Halloween popcorn:
- Pretzels
- Gummy worms
- KitKat
- Oreos
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Peanuts
- Almonds
- Coconut shreds
- Skittles

To make them extra cute I put them in cute little Halloween buckets. I got these last year at Walmart and have eagerly awaited to use them since. I think they added a nice touch to the recipe. What do you think?
