There’s something about caramel that feels especially autumn-like. Caramel sauce, caramel syrup, caramel candies – I want them all. I absolutely love caramel this time of year.

Caramel sauce is definitely the most requested sauce in the brick and mortar shop. I credit the caramel macchiato and Starbucks for starting the caramel craze in America. People love caramel.

Now you could buy the pre-made sauce at the store but nothing compares to the flavor of homemade. Have apples in the fridge? Drizzle this sauce over top for a sweet treat. Want to sweeten your coffee? Caramel sauce. Looking for a topping for your ice cream? Look no further.

This recipe needs only a few ingredients that most of us already have on hand. Plus it’s much cheaper to make your own. And the flavor is incomparable.
