TOASTED CINNAMON APPLES

One of my favorite parts of fall are the scents. They always feel so magical to me. These toasted cinnamon apples are not only delicious, they will also leave your house smelling like all the best parts of fall for hours.

I brewed some chamomile tea, tossed it into a cast iron skillet with apples and simmered them over medium heat until the apples have absorbed all of the tea, about 5 minutes or so. Then I added butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, a bit of salt and vanilla extract. I let the ingredients simmer a bit and mix until all of the apples are evenly coated.

These apples can be enjoyed lots of different ways. Here are some of my favorite ways to eat them:

  • Apple pie
  • Eat them by themselves as a snack
  • Apple oatmeal
  • Apple turnovers
  • Apple muffins
  • Apple crisp

These can also be baked if you prefer. I like to roast them and smell up the house a bit. Either way, there will be a lovely aroma and they’ll be delicious.
