Have you ever seen a butter candle? They’re pretty amazing. And a complete game changer for party hosts. I’m going to show you how to make one that’s infused by tea! This tea butter candle is simple to make so much fun.

The addition of tea infuses the butter with its flavor profiles. It is a clever way to add some kick to your butter. I wrote about coffee infused butter here. We’re doing the same thing here but using tea instead.

I used a plastic cup to mold my butter, but any mold can be used. Get creative! To melt the butter I used a double boiler. It’s a great tool for infusing things. A microwave can be used as well, but a double boiler is preferred to ensure it doesn’t overheat. Once the butter has melted, steep the tea for about 5 minutes or so. I like to add the tea to tea bags so the plant matter gets separated from the butter. If you want the plants to show, you can mix it in directly.

Once the butter has been infused, pour it into your mold and allow it to cool to room temperature. Place the mold in the refrigerator and let it chill until hardened. I left mine in overnight, but a few hours will suffice if you’re in a time crunch.

I broke up the plastic cup to un-mold the butter. And that’s it! It’s so easy, why not give it a try?
