WHEN I NEED RELAXATION SUPPORT

Lately tension has been making a strong appearance in my life. When anxious thoughts get the best of me, I get tense. And when I get tense often or for long periods of time, it takes a toll on my overall health. So I’ve learned a few ways to cope and get me through.

Strained skullcap and chamomile

I’d like to clarify that there isn’t one specific thing that works for me. My overall health requires constant support, care and maintenance. Lately it’s been a combination of daily herbs, biweekly massages, monthly chiropractic treatment and as much mindfulness and self-care that I can squeeze in.

Herbs like chamomile and skullcap have played a big role in my daily routine. I add both of them to almost all of my personal daily tea blends. To maximize their benefits, I also made an oxymel to help support me when I have a a lot of tension and need to clear my thoughts.

An oxymel is a concoction made with honey and vinegar. I added chamomile and skullcap to help keep me still while I practice relaxation. Here’s the post I made while preparing this oxymel, which includes the recipe. I say practice relaxation because practice is exactly what I need to get more of it in my life. Relaxation doesn’t come naturally to me, so practice is what I have. So practice it will be!

BREAK UP THAT TENSION

I’ve lived the majority of my life carrying around tension and it’s begun to take a toll. This last year I’ve embarked on a journey to reduce it from my life. I tend to carry tension in my shoulders in neck area so my chiropractor and massage therapist have been helping to break it up and make it more manageable. Mindfulness is also a huge factor in my mental health, which ultimately affects my overall holistic health.
