ROSES FOR YOUR TOESES

Valentine’s Day was two days ago so if you happened upon some roses that day, they probably already have begun to wilt. Why not get some more life out of them and make a foot bath? I’ll show you how to do it.

Smelling the roses

I actually didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, but I did buy myself roses from Trader Joe’s. I adore fresh cut roses. But why do they have to wilt so dang quickly? I used to work for a floral company and I learned some tips to make them last as long as possible. I’ve tried them all, but roses just don’t last. That’s ok though. It doesn’t turn me off of them in the slightest.

I combined dead sea salt, Himalayan salt, bentonite clay and the buds of my Trader Joe’s roses together then added the mixture to hot water. I’m a big hot tub fan so I try to get to a similar temperature with this foot soak. I tried to find fresh cut chamomile but wasn’t able to. The pickings are slim when you’re on the hunt the day before Valentine’s Day. I was hoping to add them as well. Next time I find them I’ll definitely need to do another soak.

I’m not normally a pedicure person so it felt strange to do a foot soak. I can’t stand my feet being touched but I do love the hot water part of the whole pedicure experience. And this is that. It was LUXURIOUS! I added detoxifying and easing Himalayan salt, dead sea salt and bentonite clay to hot water (just hot enough to be comfortable). Then the roses. It made it so much more relaxing and calming. They added a really nice touch.
