HERBAL BATH TEA DIY

Herbal bath tea is a very easy way to squeeze in self-care. (get it when you can!) Made with beneficial herbs and salts, it’s a simple and low effort way to get in some relaxation and wellness.

The best part is, this tea can be customized to fit specific needs. Such as stress, inflammation, skincare, etc. I like to start my bath teas with Himalayan pink salt as the base. I find that it helps to sooth and relax me and it’s a good all-purpose base.

FIGHT INFLAMMATION WHILE RELAXING

Known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, I use plantain in my blend. It’s also known to help with healing minor wounds such as scratches and rashes. I find it’s a good ally to have on hand for a multitude of skin issues.

Oh, turmeric. A powerhouse of an herb and super popular for helping to aid in inflammation. I find it also helps me with sore muscles and anxiety as well. It’s important to note that turmeric does stain skin, but it’s only temporary. A good soft scrub with a loofah will help get it away. The same is true for a bathtub. Some baking soda and elbow grease will do the trick.

In my opinion, you can’t have a relaxing bath without lavender. Naturally, I had to use these gorgeous flower buds. Their scent is intoxication and immediately throws my senses into relaxation mode, which I greatly appreciate!

Last but not least, I use calendula. I’ve been using a ton of calendula lately to help with sore muscles, especially on my neck and shoulder. Also, I find that it calms down the inflammation my migraine condition causes in that same area.

If you’ve ever used a bath tea before, you’ll know that it can get pretty messy. Sometimes it’s hard to get all of the little bits out of the tub. To resolve this issue, I like to put my blends into tea bags or muslin bags. It’s a game changer for clean up!
